MN: Eat Local Farm Tour
submitted by Equal Exchange
P6 Member Seward Co-op in Minneapolis is sponsoring the Eat Local Farm Tour (along with 8 other excellent co-ops in the Twin Cities). This event is a wonderful excuse to bike out to your favorite, local farm with friends.
The first ever Eat Local Farm Tour will take place this Saturday, July 30. Twin Cities co-ops and local farmers invite you to experience first-hand what's involved in creating local, sustainable food. This is an opportunity to meet local producers and see for yourself the land where your farmers work and live.
All farm tours are self-guided, meaning by car or bicycle, you make your own way to the farms that you'd like to visit. This gives you the convenience, creativity, and freedom to design your own road trip and to come and go according to your own schedule.
P6 HIGHLY recommends getting a band of bicyclists together to go visit our friends at Riverbend Organic Farm! (Or, if biking isn't your thing, you can carpool from Midtown Farmers Market.)
Download a tour guidebook (PDF) complete with maps or pick up a copy at Seward Co-op. Here is a helpful Google map as well.
