P6 Co-op since
The Brattleboro Food Co-op was begun in 1975 as a small buying club. Today, after our November 1997 expansion, the Co-op is a 16,000 square foot supermarket that is enjoyed by the Greater Brattleboro community, member and non-member alike. We are community owned, and so our goal is to be as accessible and responsive to you as possible. We strive to provide you with healthy foods at reasonable prices, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our staff is knowledgeable and eager to help shoppers in any way that they can. We are located in southeastern Vermont, just over the Massachusetts and New Hampshire borders. Our community offers beautiful Vermont countryside, a lively cultural scene, and easy access to skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities.n

Nestled in a valley behind the first big ridge back from the Connecticut River in Strafford, Vermont, Rockbottom Farm and Strafford Organic Creamery produce some of the best milk and ice cream available. Owned and operated by Earl Ransom and Amy Huyffer since 2001, Strafford Organic Creamery is a true small, family business. It is easy to tell from the taste of their super-premium ice cream and the high–quality milk how much Amy and Earl care about what they do. The creamery even distributes the milk and ice cream. When asked if using a distributor would be easier Earl responds, “it’s nice to keep our hands on the milk until it reaches the shelf,” that way he knows the people handling it really care about what they are doing, and the milk will be treated with the respect it deserves.

“Berry delicious!” is what the Brattleboro Food Coop’s grocery manager, Ian Weber, says about Elmore Roots Nursery Jams. Flavors like Black Currant Elderberry, Vermont Blueberry, Rhubarb Ginger, Plumberry and 9 others are made from 100% Vermont certified organic ingredients. All are handmade in small batches by the nursery staff using their own produce, of course.
