Joy & Taylor Raw Chocolate is Davis, California's first and only Raw, Organic, Fair Trade, Alternatively Sweetened, and Local Chocolate Company.

Taylor Pope, co-founder with his partner Joy, orders his cocoa butter (made from cacoa, pictured) from Bali because the company there is very transparent about their processing. There is a lot of controversy over the basic definition of “raw,” when it comes to making chocolate. A couple of degrees in temperature can create huge differences in the quality of oils, and in the ability of chocolate to be healthy.
In its natural state chocolate is bursting with antioxidants to cleanse the body of cancer-causing free radicals, even more than fruit, vegetables, tea or wine.
